The Bulls end their pre-season programme with another win, making it 4 wins and 1 draw in the 5 games played. 14 goals were scored and just 2 conceded as confidence flows through the squad.
Our opponents Heanor Town had the same squad issues we had with players missing through injury, work and holidays. It gave other players a chance to shine ahead of the first game of the season, in both cases an FA Cup tie.
The game started fairly evenly but an error at the back on 15 minutes let in the visitors and when Jason White saved the initial shot Elliott Reeves was on hand to finish on the far post.
The Bulls began to settle and put more pressure on the Heanor goal. It was Captain Chris Timons who put them back on level terms after 38 minutes. Rising above the pack to head home a Ryan Williams corner.
The 2nd half was just as competitive but it was Man of the Match Lynton Karkach who got the breakthrough on 76 minutes firing past Joe McCormack to give The Bulls the lead.
The cherry on the cake came a minute from time Karkach was put in by a neat pass from Grant Allott and the diminutive striker turned 2 defenders this way and that before firing past McCormack from 15 yards.
