Young Bulls continue positive start to the season

Well another good weekend for AFC Mansfield youth teams.  The most impressive victory was for the under 7's who had an 11-0 win on Sunday against Bilsthorpe FC.  An impressive start continues for the lads.

It was the first time l had the opportunity to see the under 11 on Saturday and they recorded a 3-1 victory in their cup game against Kirkby Community.  The lads played really well after going one down to recover and progress to round 2. The result could have been even better with a number of chance going wide and a good display from the visiting keeper.  Lets hope for further cup success in the future.

The under 10's continued their dominance of their respective league with a 7-0 win in a tasty fixture against Manor.  Goals came from Arron Clarke, Ewan McKenna, three from Charlie Butler and the pick of them from a free kick from Gareth Tom.  Well done boys that 3 out of 3 and top of the league.

The under 16's had a number of injuries on Sunday and ended the game with 9 players due to this but still ended with a 4-2 victory against Brimwood FC.  Shane believes that the boys played even better with 9 men.  Goals came from Liam Beardsley, Cam Mitchell and Kane Hempshall.

Bad luck to the ladies his weekend who came up against a strong Derby County side and lost out 4-2 at Queensway.  However, this game was a very close affair and could have gone either way. The girls played well and proved that they can compete against a side who have a far deeper pool of players to choose from.  The girls spirt and determination showed through on Sunday.  Well done girls.

The under 15 boys continued their good start to the season with another victory on Sunday, 5-1 against Kirkby Colts.  A result which sees them 3 points clear in their league.  The goals came from Richard Walker, Tyrane Allsop and Jordan Woolley.

All in all another successful weekend.  The magnificent 7 jackpot is £700 this week so get your forms from your managers, who knows anyone can win.  Best of luck to the under 19's this week who are up against Radford at home on Wednesday.
