The Friday
night game in the Black Dragon Badges North division produced the first double
figure score of the season, as AFC Mansfield overpowered a plucky Glapwell side
by ten clear goals. Sub Lee Easom scored
a hat trick, Mark Carter claimed two and there was one each for Dean Rick,
Danny Tighe, Danny McLane, Phil Buxton and Callum Green.
Westella Hanson are
second on goal difference after a 2-1 win over Thoresby Colliery. Jack Walters
and James Atkinson got the all-important goals for the home side, James
Scothern on target for Thoresby.
Harworth Colliery also have 22 points, they
kept up the chase by winning 4-0 at Bentley Colliery. There were two goals here
for Gareth Sides, Greg Archer and Lloyd Wilkinson also among the goals.
Phoenix
won by the odd goal in seven at home to Brodsworth Welfare. Steve McDonnell
(2), Rob Gorman and Sam Hadfield set the Rotherham side on the road to victory,
with the Brodsworth goals coming from Gary Mundy, Mark Vickerage and James
Irwin.
Thorne Colliery put an end to Newark Town’s good run with an emphatic
4-0 win at Collingham. Ross Ebbage’s early brace were added to in the second
half by Darren Fell and Scott Rhodes, as Thorne kept up the pressure on the
leaders.
Craig Rouse continues to lead by example at Kinsley Boys, and he took
his goal total to 13 for the season, scoring twice as his team ran out 3-1
winners over Ollerton Town. Ryan Jennings was the home side’s other scorer,
while Tristan Burrell pulled one back for Ollerton.
Easington United registered
their second point of the season, drawing 2-2 at home with Sherwood Colliery. Craig Buchanan and Gareth Curtis put the Notts
side ahead, but Dave Westoby and Andy Graham ensured the points were shared.
Another draw at Clay Cross Town, the home side’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Askern
coming from Ben Goodwin, with Danny Jones scoring for the visitors.
Black Dragon
Badges South division leaders Clifton couldn’t have left it much later to grab
the points at Barrowby, the only goal of the game coming in the 90th
minute through Connor Hardy.
Bilborough Pelican kept up their challenge winning
4-3 at home to Allenton United. This game saw the lead change hands several
times, the visitors fighting back from a two goal deficit to go in front 3-2 ,
but were themselves overtaken by the final whistle. Goalscorers here were Tim
Cullinan (2), Dave Udoh and Ryan Johnson for Pelican, and Shaun Roberts, Sam
Blount and David Riordan for Allenton.
Belper United stopped the rot with a 4-0
win over bottom of the table Calverton Miners Welfare. Luke Crosby’s two, with
one each for Sam Vickers and Jamie Wilde saw the Derbyshire side consolidate
third place, while Calverton’s winless run now stretches to eleven games.
South
Normanton and Mickleover Royals both went into their match undefeated, so the
6-1 scoreline in favour of the Shiners was quite an eye-opener. There were two
goals each for Andrew Mottershead and Shane Newton, with one apiece from Ben
Greenhalgh and Matthew Phillips, Lukasz Rajewski with the Royals’ reply.
John
Whetton, Johnny Hamilton and Eugene Francis were all on target for Hucknall
Town in their 3-0 win at Blidworth Welfare, while Mickleover RBL had an
excellent 5-1 result against Real United. David Moon hit a hat trick for the
Legion with Ben Stockley adding the other two, Callum Moss replying for Real.
The local derby at Linby Colliery went the way of visitors Bulwell. After the
home side had taken the lead through Matt Murphy, the Bulls roared back through
Marek Vipond, Conor Carter and Scott Litchfield to take the points 3-1.
Holbrook St Michaels and Pinxton played out a 2-2 draw. Jay Cooper gave Pinxton
the lead, but Chris Saunders and Kyle Johnson put the home side in front,
before a Wayne Cooke penalty squared things up. In the other game Southwell
City beat Swanwick Pentrich Road 3-2.
The two
unbeaten sides in the Reserve Supreme Division came up came up against each
other, and it was Dronfield Town who kept their record intact with a 4-0 win
over Matlock Town. Will Earl, Sam Bebbington, Charles Bradwell and Brett
Gibbons all scored as Dronfield returned to the top of the table.
Staveley
Miners Welfare inflicted Graham Street Prims’ second defeat of the season, the
final score 3-2 with Jake Johnson, Jake Outram and Ross Goodwin’s goals for
Staveley being answered by Prims’ Ryan Gillman and Matt Freeman.
Borrowah
Victoria edged out Retford United 2-1, Brad Ellis and Matthew Pearce scoring
for the Vics, Sam Hutchinson replying for Retford.
It was the same score at
Grange Park, where Long Eaton United got the better of Bilborough Pelican with
Darryl Hawkins and Guy Sims securing the points, Malaky Eshelby getting the
Pelican goal.
A Simon Groves strike for Teversal earned them a point against
Dunkirk who had Liam Motson to thank for their equaliser, while a single goal
gave Holbrook Sports maximum points against Radford.
Swanwick Pentrich
Road were top scorers in the Reserve Premier division putting eight past
Welbeck Welfare, with Mark Waghorn and David Robinson both hitting hat-tricks,
and Griffin with the other two.
South Normanton Athletic made it four straight
wins with a 3-0 success at Thoresby Colliery Welfare, James Dennis, Craig
Merrett and Luke Masters all on target, and Belper United beat Blidworth
Welfare by the same score thanks to Mark Walker, Dan Griffin and Jamie Sparkes.
The other two games produced draws, Jake Reynolds keeping up his goal-a-game run
for Newark Town and Chris Townley equalising for Mickleover RBL, while the
match between Pinxton and Allenton United finished goalless.
