AFC Mansfield returned to
Harworth for this league game and looked really jaded after a hectic
schedule of games.
Some players are playing four games a week and it is
starting to take its toll.
AFC were without 2 central defenders and Steve
Mcgurk had to leave the field through injury and were left with a
makeshift defence.
The Bulls have quality within the squad and still came
out with the points with a 5-0 victory.
Jammy Meehan left work early to
start the game and proved a rock at the back filling in for the
absentees.
This is the type of dedication that can win trophies for the
club and lets hope the lads get there just deserts.
The star
of the show was Dale Shepherd as he was moved to centre forward with
Dean Rick leaving the field with a tight hamstring.
With Ed Eley
going in goal Dale led the line up front and from a free kick soon
tested the goalkeeper.
He did get on the scoresheet before the end as he
calmly slotted the ball home to make it 5-0.
Earlier goals from Mark
Carter 2, Carl Haslam and Joe Naylor had paved the way earlier on in this
victory which keeps AFC top of the league.
Another hectic
week starts again with the Baris league cup semi-final this Tuesday
versus Belper to be played at Hucknall Town.
Lets hope the lads can lick
their wounds and soldier on through the pain barrier.
