AFC THROUGH TO NOTTS FINAL

AFC Mansfield are now through to the Notts Intermediate Cup Final after a tough encounter away at Awsworth Villa.
From the start the home side gave nothing away but in the first five minutes the normally reliable Dean Rick Stepped up and missed a penalty.
This saw the home sides confidence grow and they dug deep to keep The Bulls at bay.
Several chances fell AFCs way but it looked like being one of those days as the woodwork came to the rescue on a couple of occasions.Mansfield goalkeeper Ed Eley was rarely tested and in the end it petered out to a 0-0 draw at full time.
In extra time the visitors came to the fore and soon took the lead through a Matt Draper header.
Leading striker Dean Rick was taken off in a double substitution with Callum Green and Mark Robinson adding pace to the attack.
Green soon added to the tally making a darting run to latch onto the ball and the first quarter ended 2-0.
Soon after the interval Green set up a double for Mark Carter as Awsworth began to tire and The Bulls ran out 4-0 winners on the day.
AFC Mansfield will now meet Beeston in the final to be played at Eastwood Towns ground date to be confirmed.
