SIX OF THE BEST!!!

AFC Mansfield blew away the cobwebs by dismantling the new look Shirebrook Town side on Saturday.  On a blisteringly hot day The Bulls had failed to make a breakthrough before the first water break on 25 minutes.

After the break Lynton Karkach was upended in the box, a harsh decision possibly.  Nevertheless Gary Bradshaw fired the spot kick low to the keepers left to put The Bulls ahead and score his first goal for the club.  Just reward for10 minutes earlier his thunderous 20 yard effort was superbly saved by the Shirebrook keeper.

The Bulls continued to dominate possession and when Ryan Williams delivered a low cross into the 6 yard box just before the half time whistle Jimmy Ghaichem was on hand to fire home to make it 2-0.

Ollie Fearon scored on the hour mark just minutes after coming on.  His goal set up by Craig Mitchell.  Five minutes later Fearon returned the favour as Mitchell got the 4th goal.

Neat approach work saw Glynn Cotton put Ghaichem clear.  The wingers shot taking a wicked deflection off a defender for the 5th goal.

The scoring was complete on 87 minutes when Lynton Karkach got his 2nd goal for the club with a superb individual run that saw him jink past 3 defenders before firing home from 12 yards.

The Bulls move onto Thursday night when they travel to Dene Park, Hull to face newly formed East Yorkshire Carnegie.  A club formed by ex player Jamie Waltham.
