On Sunday 23rd November 2014 our AFC ladies u14's and 16's travelled to
Wembley to witness history being made by the England ladies squad finally being
able to play at the new Wembley! They were up against European champions and
favourites for the World Cup 2015 Germany so we all knew it wouldn't be an easy
game.
The quality of football being played was outstanding and even though
England lost 3-nil being able to witness the way both teams played was
inspiring not just for our girls but for the 55,000 ticket holders! A record
crowd at any ladies game!
The girls and parents all had a fantastic day and I believe it will
inspire our u14's girls to drive forward with the fantastic season we are
already having sitting 3rd in the league just 5 points behind leaders Nottingham
Forest and it must have been a great realisation for our ex AFC u16's player
Millie Clarke who now plays for Derby County academy who feed players directly
into the ladies England squad!
History making moments like this just go to show anything is possible
for any one of our girls if they want it enough! Who knows how many of our
girls we will see there in the future.......
COME ON U BULLETTES!!!
