AFC Mansfield lost their first ever game in the NCEL against Selby Town. A goal 3 minutes from time was enough for the visitors to take home the points. Asa Pardoe headed home from a free kick to deny 'The Bulls' their first point in the new league.Selby had dominated the first half and were unlucky not to be in front at the break. This was due to an inspired performance from keeper Gavin Saxby who made several top class saves.
The tables turned in the second half and it was AFC Mansfield who should have gone in front with several chances going begging.
Dean Rick hit the post and Joe Naylor had the ball in the back of the net only to be denied by a linesman's flag.
