AFC WIN IN LOCAL DERBY

AFC Mansfield came out tops in the local derby versus Sherwood Colliery.
The Bulls had a depleted squad through work commitments but dug deep and came up with the goods.
Carl Haslam soon settled the nerves and bagged early on and gave the home defence a torrid time.
Striker come midfielder Mark Carter showed his team the way by netting a hat-trick and was always available throughout the game.
AFC went in 4-0 up at half time and the game was over as regards where the points were going.
Sherwood have a young side and to their credit came out in the second half and tried to make a game of it, however AFC strikers Carl Haslam and Dean Rick added two more to make the final scoreline 6-0 to the visitors.
Talking point of the game was when striker Carl Haslam was left with an open goal after the keeper had spilled the ball.He only had to put it into an empty net but sliced it wide.
It was all taken in good fun but its a good job it wasn't 0-0 at the time.

HASLAM OUT !
