His partners in crime Dean Rick added his own
hat-trick and was given man of the match while Mark Carter added a
brace.
Funnily enough Jammy Meehan scored the other goal and it was the exact
same score and scorers as Saturday as AFC ran out 9-0 victors once again.
There was a bumper crowd of 350 for this game which is
amazing at this level and the officials at AFC are very appreciative of the
support at The Forest Town Stadium.
The game was very much sewn up early on as
AFC soon went into a 2-0 lead and the visitors looked visibly shocked at the
clinical finishing of the home forwards.
At half time the game was over as
Mansfield had a 6-0 advantage going into the break.
The only thing that could
save Sherwood on the night were the floodlights and they responded by cutting
out to loud cheers from the visiting support.
After the break the home side continued in fine form and ran
out 9-0 winners.
They missed glaring chances at times but must be pleased with
the goal tally and it bodes well should goal difference come into play at the
end of the season.
The only black spot of the night was an injury to
instrumental midfielder Phil Buxton when he was brought down and had to be
helped off the pitch.Everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.
Next up are Bentley Colliery at The Forest Town Stadium this Saturday at 3pm.
